Craft Storage Update & Snowmageddon

A few weekends ago, I repurposed a dresser as my craft storage supply centre:

Today, I found a couple of empty bins I didn't know I had.  It was just what I needed for storing remaining ribbon and rubber stamps:

 

Our Valentine's Decorations

Good morning!

 

I'm about to give you to the tour of our bedroom decorated for Valentine's Day.

 

I thought it was best to give this room all of the Valentine's Day hype.  It is, in my mind, a romantic space, and it is the space my husband and I share together as a couple afterall.  I just spruced it up a little more.

 

I started with the banner that I made and hung from the headboard of our bed:

 

 

Butternut Squash Rigatoni

This delicious baked pasta recipe is so crunchy, cheesy, and a little bit sweet too.  If you're not a big fan of butternut squash, don't fear, because the flavour is so subtle.  The panko breadcrumbs and mozzerella offer a very savoury taste to this dish

 

 

Valentine's Heart Wreath

To celebrate Valentine's Day on February 14th, earlier in January I made a banner for the headboard in the words "XO BE MINE XO", and created a couple of love-themed prints on my graphic design program and framed them.  This weekend I decided to make a heart wreath to go along with those decorations in our bedroom.

 

 

With very similar instructions to my yarn trees, I wrapped white yarn around a styrofoam wreath that I purchased from Michaels.  I secured the yarn to the backside of the wreath with Elmer's Glue-All.  This step took me approximately an hour.

Sweet Pear Cake

I don't know where the craving for my sweet pear cake came from, but I just had to make this cake this weekend.  It goes very well with a cold glass of milk.



 

If you look closely, you can see the chopped pecans which give this cake a little bit of delicious texture.
